I like watching these and saying ‘no, that bit should go there not there’ and ‘ooh that’s gorgeous, never mind, painted over it’ 😂 - they always end up gorgeous and I like seeing the choices you make

Ha - yes that’s exactly how I am watching artists work as well. I even do it when I watch my own videos back. There are definitely times when the what gets pasted down or painted over causes later regrets but the drawings are what they are in the end.

Yeah there’s a lot to be said for just going down the rabbit role and seeing where it leads, I’m coming to enjoy the imperfections in my own creative work more and more because, at least for me, letting go of outcomes actually allows for a greater degree of presence and flow whilst working which translates to a deeper enjoyment of the act itself.

Absolutely. That is the only way I can work. I can set myself a light scope (like the project book I am currently working in) and everything else can come as it comes. I just react to myself as I make marks and place things. I would get too caught up in self doubt if I had a fixed end goal.

I’m stuck on this ship and can’t make much. This video was a great “methadone” for me. Love seeing you work. Great image!
